Roy Hill Mine Appoints an AUSTRALIAN Recruiter – 8500 Temporary Jobs


We first mentioned the Roy Hill mine site when it was found out that Gina Rinehart’s company was planning on importing 1,700 overseas workers for the project (20% of the workforce for the project).

The great news is that Roy Hill chief executive Barry Fitzgerald announced that they have appointed recruitment company SKILLED to take expressions of interest to fill 8,500 positions for their construction phase – due to start in late 2012.

What Types of Jobs are on Offer at Roy Hill?

There are two phases of employment for this project – construction and operations. During the construction phase 8,500 temporary jobs will be created (from late 2012-14) and then 2,000 permanent operation positions will be created (from 2013 onward).

Positions Required Include:

  • Carpenters
  • Concreters
  • Crane Operators
  • Labourers
  • Plant Operators
  • Plumbers
  • Riggers/Scaffolders

The Where and What?

The Roy Hill mine site is located in the Chichester Range in the Pilbara region of Western Australia, these positions are offered on a FIFO contract (from Perth only).

Construction has already begun, but is expected to ramp up in the next 6-12 months, and if you qualify for a position your details will be provided to the construction contractors.
