So there is a pretty good place to start if you are based in the Perth area and are looking for a dump truck mining job, but before you go out and drop a couple of thousand dollars on one of these courses, there is one thing that you need to make sure that you understand.

Having Your Dump Truck Licenses Doesn’t Guarantee a Job

Most of these courses are run over a couple of days, and while it does give you some basic truck driving experience, the truth of the matter is that the mining companies what people who are able to jump straight into the work environment – and are usually looking for people with some ‘on the job experience’.

This is not saying that you won’t get a job straight after you complete a dump truck driving course, I’m just saying that it is something to keep in mind.

So before you make any decisions, have a chat with each of the companies above and find out what they can offer you and then, if you think it is the right choice, select the one that best suits your needs.
